PEI Prospect Charter facing injustice
BATHURST POLICE ATTEMPTS TO SABOTAGE CHARITABLE GIVING? 11/23/17
For Immediate Release June 30th, 2017
The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs and Independents is an association put in place to protect the rights of all motorcyclists in our Atlantic provinces. As a community and a nation, we seem to be forgetting what those rights are. The law enforcement tactics are no longer relying on facts and evidence, but on assumptions, opinions, and stories from the past.
In recent news articles, the police are referring to an “increase in violence and drug trafficking”, and they are linking these crimes to motorcycle clubs. They are doing this without any evidence or facts; this is yet another fear mongering tactic.
“Investigations ongoing” have been their excuse for the last number of years, and innocent law abiding citizens are being profiled, targeted and harassed simply because they choose to be part of a lifestyle that they love and respect; a community of like-minded individuals who believe in their brotherhood/sisterhood, and in the motorcycle culture.
Even with additional special police force units put in place and many overtime hours all paid for by our tax dollars, there have been no convictions and no evidence to back their many claims. When do we say enough is enough?
The ACC stands behind all motorcycle clubs and independent riders, and we do not accept the harassment, and slander put forth by media, and law enforcement that are negatively affecting individual lives each and every day. Canadian Citizens, Veterans, brothers and sisters are being robbed of their constitutional rights and freedoms.
Fundamental Freedoms
2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association.
We thank the public for continuing to seek the truth, and we ask you to not be misled by propaganda. We must all stand together, in order to make a difference.
“Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed” -Martin Luther King Jr.

Release April 25, 2017
The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs and Independents (ACC) would like to release the following statement in response to yesterday’s news article regarding the Darksiders Motorcycle Club in Bathurst New Brunswick.
We are saddened and appalled at this sensationalized “news” article. This is yet another blatant attempt by a public official to spread needless fear among his constituents and all New-Brunswickers.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/bathurst-biker-darksiders-hells-angels-fongemie-1.4082623
We would like to pose the following questions to the mayor:
Are there not adequate laws in place to deal with members of motorcycle clubs or any persons for that matter, that break the law? Does the mayor feel the local law enforcement is unable to uphold these laws?
Who is your “expert” on the motorcycle community that would have the audacity to state that one motorcycle club can dictate an MC designation to all motorcycle clubs?
Has the Darksiders Motorcycle club broken any laws now or in the past?
Were there any incidents of any kind at the motorcycle bash since its inception?
We would like an accounting of this event. Is this the mayors attempt to deflect the fact that biker bash was losing money and was possibly mismanaged? Does he think re-branding this event will keep the motorcycle community from attending?
This is fear mongering in its lowest form. The mayor would have you believe that these members of the Bathurst community who have committed no crimes should be slandered because they wear a patch. He even went so far as to compare them to the Dalton Gang from 40 years ago.
If this were any other group, more people would be up in arms saying 'this is profiling, a charter of rights infringement, discrimination'; but because it is easy to target bikers because of the past misdeeds of some, it is acceptable to do so? We as the ACC do not accept this behavior and we are asking the public to speak out now.
“An Injustice anywhere is a threat to injustice everywhere” –Martin Luther King.
The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs and Independents supports all clubs and their right to exist in our communities. We also support and accept the equal application of the law to those that choose to break it.
What we cannot condone is the prevailing attitude of Politicians, law enforcement and the Media targeting the motorcycle community, and treating us as scapegoats to try to divert the attention from existing social issues and government misdeeds. What is the government doing to fix the real issues at hand in our communities?
We appeal to the public to not be misled and get the real answers to these questions. We are embarrassed and deeply concerned by the mayor’s statements, as the people of Bathurst should also be.
Letters can be written to the mayor by emailing

The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs and Independents would like to make the following statement in response to “raids” and statements made by Mr Cook regarding our membership.
http://www.theguardian.pe.ca/news/local/2017/4/15/police-raid-two-charlotettown-biker-clubs-and-seize-liquor-and-i.html
We, the ACC, condemn this obvious police harassment of these motorcycle groups. This is yet another attempt by Mr Cook to garner the spot light on himself and to harass the Prince Edward Island motorcycle community.
We will continue to stand by and support all of our members and will not be dictated by Mr. Cook or anyone else, whom we choose to have in our confederation.
The only “taint” on this day is the obvious misuse of tax payer funds and diversion of the real social issues at hand.
The ACC is a neutral group representing all motorcycle enthusiasts, steadfast in its efforts to demand equal charter of rights applications to all our community.
Furthermore,we will condemn these smoke and mirror tactics for what they are; the erosion of our charter of rights as individuals and citizens of the motorcycle community.
The Charter must protect everyone's rights, not just the few that Cpl Cook would deem worthy.

NDP challenges proposed legislation on PEI
Premier's Proposed Legislation Unconstitutional
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Montague, PE-(March 27, 2017)
The New Democratic Party of Prince Edward Island challenges Premier Wade Maclachlan's proposed legislation to ban biker clubs' colors and deems it unconstitutional. The proposed legislation will not hold up under a legal court challenge. ”The Premier's stance painting all bike clubs, and motorcycle enthusiasts in Atlantic Canada as criminal is discriminatory and misleading," states NDP Leader Mike Redmond.
The NDP points to a Saskatchewan court ruling in 2009 that found similar proposed legislation violated a person's right to freedom of expression.
http://www.ctvnews.ca/law-against-gang-colours-unconstituti…
The NDP Leader would also like the Premier to disclose how much money the Provincial Liberal Government is spending on legal costs since he became Premier. “We have a Premier that spends more time in the court system defending his misguided legislative decisions than having open and transparent debate, and after all these are taxpayers dollars, not his”, explains
Redmond.
The NDP points to the province's willingness to spend exorbitant amounts of taxpayers' dollars fighting backroom Liberal decisions, and cites such things as a $50,000,000 lawsuit by CMT, human rights challenges, and now this proposed legislation. “With health care costs ballooning, no monies for manors and education, why on earth would the Premier want to go down this road?" concludes Redmond.

For immediate release from the Atlantic Confederation of Clubs and Independents
The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs would like to address the recent statements given by the premier of Prince Edward Island and the RCMP regarding proposed legislation targeting Motorcycle groups in P.E.I.
This includes fortification, body armor and a ban of club “colors” in bars and restaurants.
The Atlantic Confederation of Clubs strives to be a transparent organization and proposes the following:
We would like to invite the Premier, local members of parliament and the media to visit any clubhouse of the Premiers' choosing to see for themselves what a motorcycle club house consists of and that the fear mongering put forth by the Police in unjustified
We encourage the Premier to speak with the members of these clubs as they are constituents on his Island and all likelihood voted him in to office.
We would like to remind everyone that these people, who the police would vilify, are members of your community. They are born and raised on the Island. They have jobs and families here. They are your neighbors and friends.
The question we ask is what exactly has changed that would cause such an uproar considering motorcycles clubs on Prince Edward Island have been present for many years without incident?
The ACC believes that if the Premier would take a moment to talk to these people as individuals and not some faceless menace, as portrayed by the Police, he would see as we do, that they are nothing more than motorcycle enthusiasts that seek the same rights and freedoms afforded to all Canadian citizens.
We “Maritimers” are known for being proud and friendly people who are quick to stand by our neighbors. It's unfortunate that some would have you believe otherwise. Take a minute and say hello to a Biker and we believe that you will find that we are no different than you
.Don’t be misled by Police fear mongering or Political agendas.
The Atlantic Confederation of Club awaits the Premiers response and hopes we can set a date for a clubhouse tour in the near future.

Statement for Immediate release
January 20th 2017
Due to the negative coverage as of late by the media, particularly the press conference held in Prince Edward Island, we felt that we should address the membership.
We believe the actions taken recently to be fear mongering by the police and political pandering by the Premier.
We hope to address this at the meeting and we advise our members to be prepared for a large presence of law enforcement on Saturday.
We encourage members to come out in full force to demonstrate that we, the motorcycle community, will not be intimidated and threatened or allow our charter of rights and freedoms to be eroded for political gain or law enforcement agendas.
Please share this on any and all social media sites you are on.
Contact your member of parliament and express your displeasure as citizens and voters of the great country we reside in.
Please let anyone and everyone know that these meetings are open to the general public and we encourage anyone who wishes to know what our agendas are at the ACC to come and sit in. We also encourage the independent riding community to attend.
We as a confederation stand with the motorcycle clubs, riding clubs and independents as well as supporters in PEI, and we hope your communities will stand behind you as well. We need to recognize that this affects all of us.
As the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom states: Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms
(a) Freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) Freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) Freedom of association
We ask that our membership not spread the propaganda displayed by the media, and that you instead respectfully spread awareness, and truth in your words and your actions. We must take a stand, this is our lifestyle, not a tv show.
